One To Months Before The Shower

__ Set a date.
__ Decide on a theme within the expectant parents wishes.
__ Make a guest list, assemble guest addresses.
__ Choose the baby shower location.
__ Plan the menu for the shower. Do you plan on catering?
__ Choose your invitations, or create your own.

Two To Three Weeks Before The Shower

__ Prepare and mail the baby shower invitations with directions included on how to get to the shower.
__ Place the order for the cake.
__ Decide on games to be played.
__ Purchase the decorations and party favors which match the theme you've decided upon.

Welcome sign
Wall hung decorations such as banners
Party favors
Balloons
Disposable cameras for the guests
Plates, napkins, and utensils which match the theme.
Suitable prizes for games.

One Week Before The Shower

__ Determine your actual guest count, then make follow-up calls if necessary.
__ Prepare table assignments and name tags if you are using them.
__ Place your order for food if it is being catered.
__ Choose background music if you intend to have it playing.

The Day Before The Shower

__ Purchase food and prepare platters or pick up the food if ordered.
__ Purchase the beverages you intend to serve.
__ Prepare signs leading to party if needed.
__ Wrap gifts for game winners.
__ Wrap your gift.
__ Buy flowers.
__ Pick up cake.

The Day Of The Shower

__ Decorate
__ Place the name tags out if you've elected to use them.
__ Place flowers out.
__ Buy bread, rolls or any last minute items.
__ Buy ice, if needed.
__ Display foods out on buffet table.
__ Prepare gift table.
__ Pick up or prepare balloons.
__ Set up tables and seating arrangements. Place party favors on tables.
__ Set out beverages, glassware, blender, ice, coffee and condiments.
__ Put out street signs 15 minutes before people are expected to arrive.
__Pick up flowers from the florist or await delivery.
__Pick up bakery cake or frost home-baked cake.
__Pick up prepared foods, bread, and rolls.
__Finish cooking and assembling homemade food.
__Do a final cleanup of the bathroom.
__Set tables.
__Give yourself a time-out.
__Arrive early at a not-at-home party site.

During The Shower:

Greet guests; start the party.
Touch base with your guest-photographer.

After The Shower:

Pack up the gifts.
Pay any hired help.
Say YES to any offers of cleanup help.
